Environmental Ethics

The Vision Family's Environmental Ethics

Vision UK is keen to tackle environmental issues and has had an Environmental Policy in place since January 2008.
By enforcing a "no fires" rule at the sites we work on, we are helping to prevent pollution and preserve local air quality.

We also aim to minimise the wastes arising from our construction activities, to re-use or recycle wastes that do arise wherever possible (e.g. as aggregate for construction work), and manage any wastes that are produced in a responsible manner.
We provide all of our properties with Energy Saving Light bulbs which are low wattage.
Within all of our Care Homes and ‘Move-On’ projects we supply Recycling facilities, and manage the use of them.

Vision UK’s Head office purchases Recycled paper, that paper is used both sided and, when disposed of it is shredded and put in to a Paper Bank at our local supermarket.

We have a strict policy with regards to our PC’s and Machinery. The policy states, “All PC’s and computer equipment is to be turned off, at the end of every day. Break times and long periods away from the machinery must be put on to Power Saving Mode”. We have activated energy saving software on all of our PC’s to make sure we are using the least amount of energy when PC’s are not in use. Since having this policy in place, we have saved a huge amount of money, and feel we are doing our bit to help the environment.
